REQUIREMENTS |
- Entry-level Pentium (P3 or up).
- 64MB of RAM.
- Hard Disk Drive (1GB).
- 100mbps network card or equivalent according to your network
architecture; we do not advise making extensive use of a 10mbps
network.
- Mouse.
- Video card capable of at least 800 x 600 resolution
Any operating System (Windows, Linux, UNIX)

- At least 512MB of RAM.
- Large Hard Disk Drive
- 100mbps network card or equivalent according to your network
architecture.
- UPS (backup power supply).
- Tape Backup, CD writer or memory key.
- Any operating System (Windows, Linux, UNIX)

NETWORK |
- Network operating system. (XP, Win 2000, Linux UNIX)
- Standard 100mbps Ethernet network, fibre optic or radio (wireless).
- Good quality network hardware (cabling, network cards, hubs,
switches).

BACKUP
STRATEGIES |
- Make full backups daily
- Check that the data have been backed up correctly
- All backups should be clearly labelled and dated
- Avoid making “ad-hoc” backups onto the desktop or the network.
- Do not make backups into Edupac folders
- It is wise to make backups on removable media and keep them
off-site.
- Make backups on a five-day rotation basis
